With over 26 years of experience teaching vocal and performance techniques, Summer combines her global performance insights with extensive training from Seth Riggs (Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Barbara Streisand), Debra Bonner, Scott and Kim Wood Sandusky (Beyoncé). She holds a major in Recording Industry and a minor in Music Business from Middle Tennessee State University.
Summer served as a professor at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), a prestigious performing arts conservatory in New York City and Los Angeles. She continues to lead workshops and boot camps and frequently appears as an industry guest.
The Los Angeles Academy for Artists and Music Production, founded by Mikkel Eriksen and Tor Hermansen of STARGATE, offers a one-year music program with world-class mentors.
STARGATE has written and produced for Beyoncé, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Sam Smith, Coldplay, and more.
As the academy's inaugural coach, Summer has been mentoring and teaching vocal and performance technique workshops to its artists, producers, and writers since its inception.
